Long & Foster Institute of Real Estate is available in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C., and offers the required classroom course, Principles and Practice of Real Estate. Students in Virginia and in Pennsylvania may take a classroom, correspondence or an online course. However, the class exam must be taken at the training center by appointment. The tuition for this course will vary by state. TThe course is given by Long & Foster Institute and Foster School of Real Estate as well as many degree granting institutions and community colleges.

 

It is highly recommended you take the State Exam Review class before the state licensing examination. WWe offer this course each month at our training centers consisting of 4, 8 or 12 hours of intensive review; or you may choose a computer based review through our RE-Campus. Once you pass the Principles Course and the MD, VA, DE, PA or DC examination, you may want to consider Metro Referrals. Metro Referrals offers an alternative to becoming a licensed agent while allowing you to keep your license active, referring potential buyers and sellers to an actively selling agent and collect a referral fee or commission. At this point, should you choose to affiliate with Long & Foster, you will join our post-license training program, Star builders®, which will teach you the practical aspects of listing and selling properties.
